Friends, Supporters and Artists, it’s that time of year again for all of us to come together for Local Project’s Year End Holiday Party! This year we will be celebrating on Saturday, December 17th, starting at 6:30pm at Local Project.
We would love to spend this special evening with all of our contributors, collaborators, artists, neighbors, and most importantly FRIENDS. Food will be served by our excellent neighbors, PAO & CHA CHA, bringing their delicious Latin American/Asian fusion cuisine, beer will be provided by our long time sponsors Sambla AB & Lagunitas Brewing Company and then some goodies to take home from THE only art store in the area, Artists and Craftsman. There will be other sweets and appetizers provided by friends and supporters of LP as well along with visual projections by Sam Irwin and a Live DJ set by Chris Alker (and surprise guests!).
Because we want to continue to provide a strong platform for the community, we would like to ask you for a $50.00, tax deductible contribution. This money will help LP install a new heating system so we can continue to produce and present exciting programming and classes during Long Island City’s windy, snowy days. The community can’t afford to have our doors closed during the winter, especially because we want to continue to bring you the best in our community has to offer.
Can you believe that it has been 14 years since Local Project started?? Without your support we couldn’t have made it this far and we want to celebrate our diverse and rich community that has stayed strong for the past 14 years, but we need your help.
The year 2016 it’s been a great year for Local Project, we are thankful to have received, for the first time, a grant from Department of Cultural Affairs for our Emerging Curators program, the continued support of Jimmy Van Bramer’s office that lets us continue our Free Educational Program, QCA supporting our Public Events, and the Citizens Committee of NYC for supporting more free programing in our neighborhood. Just this year alone we were able to host 16 gallery shows, featuring over 100 new artists to Local Project, which would not have been possible without your help and support.
Nothing will stop Local Project, especially with you and the community behind us, and we look forward to continue providing a creative space for both the artist and the community to come together and collaborate on a rich future for everyone.

Thanks to your help and support we will keep LP Spinning into the future!
