This new body of works comprised of drawings, sculpture, and installation celebrates interconnectedness of species in the natural world. The more we understand about our flora and fauna neighbors, the more we recognize the wisdom and necessity of their interdependence. Environmental knowledge and awe is interwoven with the artist’s personal connections to form the basis of this work.

Anastasiya is a mixed media artist from Yekaterinburg, Russia. She immigrated to the U.S. in 1993 and received her BFA in painting from The Maryland Institute College of Art. She has completed residencies at the New York Studio Residency Program and GlogauAIR Berlin. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including the Rochester Contemporary Art Center (New York), A.I.R. Gallery (New York), Galerie Zeitzone (Germany), among many others and can be found in collections worldwide. She has received two grants for sculpture work on Governors Island from FIGMENT NYC, exhibited installations at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and received a New Work Grant from the Queens Council on the Arts in 2019.

This exhibition is made possible (in part) by the Queens Council on the Arts with public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
