This outraged many artists, and a petition was made, artist such as Patti Smith has signed the petition, the artist won. Local Project is pleased to announce "White Square", the first solo show in our gallery of Korean artist Seongmin Ahn. Seongming Ahn's work combines classical geometric forms with her interests on architectural structures. According to the artists herself the purpose is "to evoke a new way of looking at the space around us, Born in Seoul, Korea Seongmin Ahn moved to New York in 2001 after her graduate school at the Maryland Institute College of Art. ASI SOMOS (This is Us) @ Local Project Casa Ecuatoriana, in collaboration with Local Project, presents Así Somos, an exhibition that highlights the works of Ecuadorian artists living and working in New York City. Through drawing, mixed media, sculpture and audio-video installations, each artist, although sharing a similar cultural background, presents diverse work that documents and interprets his/her relationship with the history, geography and politics associated with the Andean region and beyond.
