Local Project is proud to open its calendar year with, Illuminated Metropolis, the past and final works of Kentaro Fujioka.
“I believe in the strength of the dialectic method, for example, art and nature, construction, and deconstruction. I always work on two opposite things at once. In some cases, I try to push the contradiction further. My bicycle is a practical tool for transportation, but I also use it as a drawing tool. “ KF
Illuminated Metropolis is a celebration of his life’s work and highlights the many mediums that Kentaro explored in his artistic practice. The most recent series, The Treaties, never before seen silkscreen prints made with tea leaves, will be featured along with his Locus of Momentum Drawings – notably made with his bicycle. His untitled poem along with other sculptures from his Reflection series will also be on view.
