The Feeling Is Mutual is an ongoing group exhibition that examines the concept of family values through photography-based media. Each artist photographs within his or her own family, be they biological or chosen. There is an emotional investment in portraying the subject because of their intimate relationship. The result of this investment shows in the mutual affinity one can sense and see in the work.

TFIM is looking for artists to be included in an exhibition at Local Project in Long Island City, NYC. We are accepting submissions of photography, photo-based mixed media, video, and performance art.

Please include: 1-5 jpg images, 1000px on the longest side 1 – 5 links for video (preferred), or 1mov,mp4, or m4v file List of works including title, dimensions, medium, date, and price Project Statement link to website or Instagram
Guidelines:
There is no entry fee to submit your work but accepted artists pay a hanging fee of $30, by cash, check or Venmo. Hanging fees go directly toward the expenses of the exhibition and the reception.
Work must be ready to hang ie; frames or wired, no clips or pins -Size Limit to 20” x 24” and prices between $100-$500. We hold the right to make exceptions Local Project takes a 30% fee if your work is sold. Sales will be finalized at the end of each exhibition. Artists are responsible for the drop-off and pick-up of any and all artwork. Any artwork left without notice for more than a week after the end of the show at LP, Local Project will not be held responsible.
TIMELINE May 6th: Submissions open
June 20: Submissions close
June 25: Notification to accepted artists
July 7th: All work must be shipped or delivered to Local Project (with return shipping included) July 13: Opening
July 27: Exhibition Closes August 1st: All work must be picked up. Shipped work will be returned to artists (shipping label must be provided by the artist)
